Nah, a little too heavy if it is the Chevy.

Trim on upper fender and front hub cap make me think Chevrolet.

I didn't say it wasn't a Chevy. I'm just saying it's either a 3600 or 3800, and being that it's a tow truck, I'm leaning more towards the 3800.

@ Big Dave:
All details seem to make it a 1955-59 Chevrolet Task-Force / GMC Blue Chip indeed, with what could be the Chevrolet 1957 fender emblem. But not a pickup nor a ½-ton 3100 model. More likely a ¾-ton 3600 or a 1-ton 3800 chassis-cab based (3603 or 3803 factory model code) tow-truck.
The dual rear wheels were optional for both the 3600 and the 3800 model, so it can't be used as a clue. The only difference was the wheelbase (123¼"/3.13 m for the 3600, 135"/3.43 m for the 3800), but can it be identified with such a viewpoint?
