Fortunately for Renault there weren't millions of Junkman all over the world Ugly the R12? ...normal it's french apart from joke, I 've never liked so much the R12, but I wouldn't say it's ugly compared to hundreds of uglier cars |

I always wondered why so many people dislike it, as I find it good enough (I won't say that I like it, but it is better than average for me). |

Ugly, I don't know, it looks like a little shrunken SAAB 99. |

Very nice car with, modern (in its time) shape. I like all Renaults from this era but R12 is probably my favourite. |

That's maybe the reason why I almost like it -- Last edit: 2007-01-23 19:43:44 |

Released in Australia in 1970 as Renault 12 TL as sedan only. In March 1972 sedan became available as TL or GL, and wagon released as just wagon (becoming TL wagon in 1974). In June 1974 options were L, GL and TL sedan and GL or TL in wagon. For 1975 L sedan was discontinued and engine capacity was increased from 1200 to 1300. For last year in Australia (1976) models were TL, GL and XL in sedan and wagon form, with an automatic option only on XL sedan.
