Due to the script placement at the front fender it is 1965 Chevrolet Impala Caprice Custom Sedan, model 16439.

It was a trim package NOT a seperate model... In 1965 Chevrolet introduced the Impala Caprice, exclusively as a four-door hardtop. Caprices received unique tufted upholstery, wood grained accents on the dashboard and specialty pulls on the insides of the doors. This "halo" model also featured the "spinner" wheel covers from the Impala SS, with the "SS" logo centers replaced by a Chevrolet "bowtie" emblem. The Super Sport's blackout rear trim strip below the triple taillights was also used, with the "Impala SS" emblem deleted of course

Also it does not have the blackout rear trim stripe under the taillights.....

You are quite correct, supcoach. The 1965 Chevrolet Caprice series were originally sold as an option package with heavy duty suspension system, vinyl roof, exlusive side trim and exlusive hubcap. With this package installed on the car, the 'Impala' script is nowhere to be found. It was replaced with the 'Caprice' script at the front fender. But the model number remain the same as the Impala Sport Sedan V8 engine. The first Caprice series is not available in 6-cylinder form.
