Big front wheel arches, late 1981 licence plates, so I think 20 TX. |

I had a 1976 20TL. Out of the many cars I have owned since 1965, undoubtedly the second fastest rotter, only beaten by the '57 Victor, and not helped by its colour, washing machine white. You could see the rust creeping along it on a wet afternoon. Very comfortable, and quite spritely for such a big body with only a 1.6 engine, but boy, did it rot! I understood that TS and TX have grille badges saying 2-Litre (TS) and something similar (2.2-Litre??) on TX. There's also the other high spec possibility of GTD (TS with diesel), but I don't know what it did - if anything - for grille badge. |

Yes it is TX/R1279, to bigger wheels typical only for TX since 1981 and mentioned by 929V6, it is also worth to add headrests on the front and rear seats and more important - chromed finiton of the side windows. The car wasn't too fresh anymore in 1993, so it could loose grille badge in the meantime. -- Last edit: 2015-02-21 15:37:07 |
