Something like this can only be a 3500HD.

The thumbnails show a regular C-3500, not an HD model. I'm willing to bet that the main ambulance is also not an HD as contrary to what Ddey said, something like this can also be a C-3500.

These would both be from the North East Ambulance Service fleet so I'd assume both would be the same spec. Here's another one we've seen: /vehicle.php?id=387761 and some reference pics: https://www.flickr.com/photos/47362452@N02/4753331084/ , http://www.fireambulance.f9.co.uk/p49.htm and https://www.flickr.com/photos/magility9/8493141624/

It seems that the 1998 units had the stripe livery and the 1999 ones the Battenburg livery.

None of the ambulances sold in the UK by Wheeled Coach were HD models, just C-3500 models.

Made for GB. These officially went on sale around 1997.

I think these were actually labeled Suburban for this market?
Every reference source calls them Suburbans.

Just like Truck_Guy found they called them Chevrolet Sierra in a certain market (forget which).

I think we may have to change these to Suburbans?

Interesting, the only GM trucks I knew about in GB were a few C-3500 HD that had been converted into armored vehicles called the TAVERN.

Far as I can tell the NEAS fleet of Chevrolet Suburbans were registered in at least two batches:

R6xx WPU = stripe livery as 4.03 thumbnails registered in late 1997.
T5xx KAR = Battenburg livery as main image. Registered in 1999.

Surrey had at least two batches too registered in the registrations S4xx STW (August 1998) and V6xx KNO (1999) as well. No livery differences on their's however.

Great information Sandie!

Does this require a name change to Suburban with C-3500 in extra information? Also 1999 MY?

Edit: These were called Suburbans. They were C/K-3500s. See this brochure for the available conversions: https://www.flickr.com/photos/47362452@N02/4801589642/in/photostream/ - this is a subsidiary of Wheeled Coach.

K-3500 by the fender flares.

Wheeled Coach UK proudly called themselves "Wheeled Coach UK". "ARMA" isn't a subsidiary, but the model name of the patient module series (Aluminium Remountable Modular Ambulance).
