Oct 56 - Apr 58 plate series "allocated in blocks" so public sector likely. Split the difference and say 57.

I think this may be Pickfords 'tackle' lorry .
Pickfords were a nationalised company so number would fit .
Cab top looks low and Austin / Morris so maybe a Austin Loadstar .

Agreed Austin Loadstar wheelarch and sidelight.

Assuming its not a tractor unit then either...
1950 Austin K2 Loadstar 2-Ton 138" wheelbase Truck
1950 Austin K4 Loadstar 4-5 Ton 158" wheelbase Truck

Difficult to be certain but load-bed and wheelbase looks long so 4-5 Ton Austin K4 Loadstar.

The Austin Loadstar Series III was replaced in March 1955 by the WE 3 and 5 tonners, so after October 1956 is too late even I think for a large contract purchase by Pickfords registered over time. The thumbnail does show that the wing flange has the extra flared section found on the WE. Also just visible is the panel form carried over from the Series III wing. Wheelbases as introduced were: 5-ton long chassis, 13ft 4in, short 10ft and 2-3 tons 11ft 6in. The 6-ton 603 WE introduced in 1961 (I have not found the 4-ton introduction date yet.)
