An 600 SEL (without leather upholstery) |

I thought leather would be standard on a big car like the W140? |

a 600 SEL costed like £100,000 brand new right. who is there right mind would spend that much on a car and not have leather seats as standard. If I bought an S600 in 1991 I would have it in black, have leather seats and double glazing in the windows. any luxury option I could find. |

Today available for a fractnional amount. Here we go: Link to "suchen.mobile.de" btw.: leather-seats are a question of taste. Finally useless, even worse than cloth-seats. When I would have a chance to get my dream car ( http://www.renestaud.com/shop/images/mbw109009.jpg ) I would not choose leather interior. And no sun-roof and no A/C. -- Last edit: 2012-07-30 19:06:25 (G-MANN) |

Leather was standard for the 600 SEL, that's for sure. The seats are probably covered in the optional velours by request of the first owner. For me the W140 looks much better with leather interior, but anyway, this particular 600 SEL is very well equiped indeed as it even has the rare two separated rear seats. From what you can see in the review it only lacks leather, programmable heater and automatic hidropneumatic suspension with te button to switch between sport and comfort modes. |
