It's very possible that this tank came from Czech Rep. or Slovakia. Otherwise, the owner could paint on it a big red star. :) However, there is a tank in Swiss museum - a Czech made T-54 with Polish markings.

Very true, the Czech and Polish ones tend to be a lot better built and cared for than the Russian ones, it is very difficult to tell from a single pic, but the flat machined spot under the sight appears on quite a few Czech ones.

Yes, and they were more widespread than Soviet ones, since most of Polish and Czechoslovak productions went for export. Some of the other Soviet-designed vehicles were also made mostly in Czechoslovakia (BMP-1), Poland (ATS-59 and MT-LB) and Bulgaria (MT-LB), and the vast majority of them went directly to USSR.
