'65. Was the RHD-version built in Canada?

Yes, American cars for the Commonwealth market were built in Canada.

Agree likely to be a CDN car, but unsure if they were factory made with RHD or converted in UK. If factory-made, it's likely that these were part of batches for eg Aus, ZA which slipped the occasional example into UK. There were some specialist converters in UK who made RHD with official blessing.

I've personally seen a '66 Bel Air 4dr that was RHD/English plated,it was parked two spaces from our car in the parking lot of a castle in Bavaria we were sightseeing at in 1974? My Dad and myself both noticed it when we walked by it! ("Look? A Chevy with it's steering wheel on the 'wrong side'!!")Wish now I'd somehow gotten a pic of it? :(

Why? Because of the RHD?

Did you remember if it still had the old 1965 Chevrolet instrument panel?

I seem to recall it looked like the one in a 'normal' 65/66 big Chevy, just reversed? (Mirror Image)
