Austin Princess Funeral Car with coachwork most likely by Abotts of Farnham. It could be the very car I saw at the hearse of the year show last year.

What a shame! I was hoping to finally see a hearse by Abbott of Farnham, but I didn't... I tell you what this is, this is a fibreglass-bodied Princess by Dottridge Brothers (see the chrome molding on the door and the covered roof).

Edit: And it appears like they all came with the same driver as standard equipment.

Das geht ja noch. Hauptsache, die Passagiere wechseln von Zeit zu Zeit. ;)

Agreed, and made of fibreglass which was quite revolutionary in the 1950s, way before Coleman Milne started playing with plastic bodies - oooh missus!

A 1962 version should be listed as Vanden Plas Princess 4-litre Hearse, not as Austin Princess...

May well be BLE 697B again as a rent-a-hearse for mid-late 60s filming - /vehicle_669681-Vanden-Plas-Princess-4-Litre-Hearse-1964.html , /vehicle_340397-Vanden-Plas-Princess-4-Litre-Hearse-1964.html
