Looking at this again - maybe with that oval shaped badge this might be a very early Dennis(??)

The extreme forward driving position looks like this Star Omnibus Company example.

Star Omnibus Co. used three MiInes-Daimler and two Brillié omnibuses, in 1906. To me the forward driving position could more likely indicate a Brillié chassis. http://www.tmb.cat/en/patrimoni-historic which also has the oval radiator badge.

Brillié is quite possible I believe with a locally built (UK/London) body.

LC plate series started in May 1905 - was assigned for London County - and completed well before 1929 when Glass's listings start; a book source says it was issued to public and private users.

May 1905 to Nov 1906 according to oldclassiccar.co.uk

Straw boater hats for the masses were already in decline after 1918 so I think this is before then.

So late 1905/early 1906 plate date here?

Without seeing more of the bus I am more confident now that the Star Omnibus Co. picture from the London Transport Museum collection is a Brillié or Brillié-Schneider bus by the general forward (over-engine) driving position. This plus the sloping side louvres and chain drive are seen in both links. In the main picture above radiator size front chassis rail and shape of the oval badge are all the same plus the dash-board protecting the driver.

Seeing more of the front with the side louvres in the picture would be good but with the dates I believe this is a 1906 Brillié or Brillié-Schneider purchased by the Star Omnibus Company.
