The grill is a 1981-82, but it's missing the "CHAMP" door badges.

Sensitive topic.
I used to see these all the time as a kid. They were quite common. Now in the US every last one is gone. I miss these.

Every last one? Do you mean that there is not even one specimen left in the US? That's bulls!h+, I saw one driving down the road yesterday, and I'm certain it was a Champ, rather than a Colt, because it clearly had the "Champ" badges on the door.

Hagerty Insurance recently released their "threatened, endangered and extinct" list. The Plymouth Champ was designated "extinct" and they said no one in their company had seen one or even heard of a surviving Champ in years.
Better write to Hagerty then, and tell them you saw one. As of recently, they doubted that even 1 was still around.
I havent seen one in the US in over 10 years and even then the Champs and even the Colts were few and far between.

I bet there's still one or two alive somewhere in L.A. If there's anywhere just about any car can hold out for decades remaining unnoticed but still alive, it's tucked away somewhere deep in L.A. I would know this.

It is a 1981-82 grille, but it's the Colt grille in black.
