Odd, the grill is from a 78-80 Ford Granada.

They probably used different cars for the distant shots and for the close up shots. Also looks like it was originally white and repainted light blue (see under the trim and inside the doors).

I came here looking for this because Frank said he'd had the car for 8 years and that he had special ordered the bench seat. But the episode was set in 1993 and the car was 15 years old at the time.

I also thought in the initial scene with the car that it was a Grenada rather than a Monarch. But the close up shots were of a Monarch.

Was the trashed Monarch the same car as the intact one we see earlier or did they paint up and smash an old clunker of the same model?

It’s hard to tell for sure, but it’s parked just as cockeyed and has the same license plate so it’s possible. I can tell that that the smashed up car was originally a light tan or beige color, you can see on the inside of the driver door and side trim that was removed. Maybe Frank changed his mind after special ordering it and decided he liked blue better than tan. What’s funny is that I thought Granadas and Monarchs ONLY came with bench seats, were buckets even an option?
