Given a bad wrap in my mind, it was obiviously a show piece that needed sorting out with atleast a suspension and cooling system overhaul and also probably needed a good tune up from the aston workshop before it would have been a fair test of the db5's abilities. |

well its old tech dont forget and they did lie about the horsepower plus you remember how much the cars lost in the 10,000 pound challange and factor that in with a worn out and probably pretty loose suspension like leno talked about here on his challenger: Link to "www.jaylenosgarage.com" Link to "www.jaylenosgarage.com" and its little wonder it did so bad, but the db5 was never really ment to be a supercar there crusers, a gt car not some hyper car, if you want that buy a DB4 GT that has a shorter wheelbase and weights 200 pounds less (trust me the weight makes a difference) |

A DB5 should have 3995cc not 3700cc. DB4 had 3670cc and from 1962 had faired-in lights etc like DB5. So DVLA have either got the year of first registration wrong (so this is DB4, probably Vantage) or engine size wrong (and this is DB5). 99 LCJ is an undateable private plate. -- Last edit: 2011-06-12 01:40:54 |

AUK 270B is [DB5/1635/R] - sold at Brooklands auction in 2011, and then at Bonhams in 2015. Maybe a bit of an auction addict?? Which might mean it's a dud. Or - in case any lawyers are watching - may just be a total coincidence. See /vehicle_932288-Aston-Martin-DB5-1964.html -- Last edit: 2016-07-05 16:20:29 |
