1954 Chevrolet. I think it's plain enough to be a One-Fifty. |

I agree with your assessment, tibi. |

TOO plain. Looks stripped. Could have been any model originally. |

The 1954 Chevrolet One-Fifty Special did have chrome trim around the bottom of the windows all around. And, yes, they are really devoid of side trim with rubber rear fender guard. |

When the movie first aired on TV, the scene at the beginning with the couple in the gray '54 Chevy ran longer - Nick and Don in the '57 stay alongside them until a semi (old Ford tractor pulling an empty car carrier) approaches from the opposite direction, turning it into a game of chicken. The kid in the '54 dives off the road and smashes up in a ditch. Nick and Don just laugh it off. I guess that scene was cut because it made their characters too unsympathetic? It must have been added back in to fill out the two-hour network running time. |

Okay, here is my assessment: I say this is 1954 Chevrolet Two-Ten with missing beltline trim and rocker panel. It has bright door window frame trim and windscreen trim here. Two-Ten: Link to "www.oldcarbrochures.com" One-Fifty: Link to "www.oldcarbrochures.com" Your comment is most welcome here |
