Good spot for the Sunbeam, but I think I'll have to accept as too background this time - I can't identify anything useful.

I suppose, that there is no need to identify more details of it, as this model wasn't exported that much and only for a very short time. To West Germany for not even 2 years.
@dsl: the German Wiki-Article says, that it was a redundant car, more modern than its predecessor Hillman Imp, but technicially obsolete either.

The Chrysler 1307 was modern enough and the Horizon was waiting for its launch, so the Sunbeam was not neccessary at all. The reasona, why it was produced longer despite that, where british and political. Because it was made in England with many GB-made parts, so Chrysler UK got a generous financially support from the government.
The end came in Spring 1981 - so annother Iron Maggie-victim, I suppose

P.S. It's said too, that many British peopple had been angry about the carefree way, Chrysler had used names. Just one year after Sunbeam ended as an independent brand, they used the name just for a model. This was seen as a waste and ignoration of tradition.

Well, I'm not going to argue with it getting a page .... The Sunbeam was simply a quick solution to an emerging gap in the range for a 3 door hatch as this sector suddenly became important in UK. Used Avenger base so conventional rwd engineering, but was quick and cheap to develop - it was never meant to represent cutting-edge technology nor be a major export effort. Served its purpose well, and became pretty successful as a rally car which enabled some export marketing. Never assembled outside UK.
