I think the 340 and 360 series were built in The Netherlands. Because they derrived from the Volvo 343, which at it turn derrived from a DAF design for a new car, which was finished by DAF when Volvo took over the car division of DAF.... So I wunder, must the origin not be The Netherlands? Or we're they also produced in other countries |

Volvo 66 should be marked as Dutch car I guess, but for the 3xxx I do not know. |

well I am not very convinced on marrking this as dutch vehicle.. 700 were also produced in Netherlands, Belgium, even Malasia S/V40 dtto etc etc. I think we should let this be swedish Volvo 8) anyway this is very similar car to the car I first sat in (when I was about few months old ) |

Yes but was this car originally from Volvo, or from DAF like the 66? |

But maybe Volvo 66 and 343/345 should has a Dutch flag, they were completely designed in the Netherlands. F.e. Citroen Axel has Romanian flag and "made for F" or VW Fox which has a Brazilian origin. -- Last edit: 2006-11-02 14:50:28 |

Originally planned and constructed as "DAF 77" |

... but not the sedan version. |

This is the same DAF 77, where Volvo-guys have nailed a trunk on. Same as the VW Passat I, which is an Audi 80 with an ironed butt. |

Presumably production started in 1983 and examples were on the road in that year but I think the sedan/saloon was introduced for the 1984 model year. The one piece windows in the front doors also suggests it’s the 1984 model but I only know UK versions. That looks like a GLE badge. -- Last edit: 2023-03-14 13:47:24 |
