I might be wrong but wasn't the convertible introduced for the 1996 MY? The 1995 brochure mentions only the sedan, coupe and LS sedan.

1996 appears to first mention it. I checked the 1995 brochure and it doesn't mention it like you said.

that color seems to start in 1997 according to brochure ( and they got the Z24 look for 1998 )

If the episode aired in Jan 1996, then a 1997 model would be pretty much non-existant unless it’s a pre-production

looks like its the pic from the brochure that is darker
