Just "Audi Quattro"? :??: I thought that only the 80s coupé was labelled like that, and that for others it was always added after the base model name...

..I didn't know the full name ...and just wrote what I could see on the car (..knowing it would be corrected by our bunch of experts.! ;) )

Anyone want to know anything else?

It's my car, and I'm driving it.

I've yet to see the "making of" film yet, but I did shoot a fair bit of it.

Cheers,

Chris

Hi Chris,

If you happen to pick up on this, I have a few queries. Where was the location used and what sort of mounts / camera heads were you using? Looks like straight forward grip stuff, but couldn't see the camera. I've seen previews of the series but not a full episode.

Hi Neill,

This particular shoot was at the Loton Park Hillclimb in Shropshire, UK.

The camera mounts consist of a 6" suction mount fitted with a ball & socket head plus a custom made camera plate, supported with 2 bracing arms to a pair of 4" suction mounts. I seem to remember that the cameras that time were a pair of Sony PDX10's.

We rigged the cameras front & back and alternated between chasing & being chased. Great fun, but I went through front tyres rather quickly! Apparently I was getting a rear wheel in the air at one of the other locations we use for filming.

I've since lowered the car slightly by fitting Eibach springs which makes it all a bit stiffer and vastly improves the look of the car.
She's now getting a little long in the tooth as 173,000 miles approach, but is still a wonderful car to drive.

Number was a Xmas gift from the wife: CD (my initials) Z (as in "of") 256 (4x4x4x4 or 4 to the power of 4).

Both car and plate will eventually be up for sale when I move to France for the quiet life...

Cheers,

Chris
