Very interesting! Reminds me of the big Büssing trucks. As I hadn't seen this one before I tried to find more Information on the internet. And now I am a bit confused about the name. In most documents the name is given as Jyry-Sisu, and even on the trucks the inscription is like this: http://130.231.241.44/~tomilepp/pics/wanhawoima/gallery9.html Link to "www.peltilehma.com" Almost all web-pages about this subject are in Finnish, which is hardly a problem, as I can read everthing written in Finnish, but the letters ...  At least the official Sisu web-page is available in English, too: http://www.sisuauto.com/portal/english/about_sisu_auto/sisu_auto_history/ Here it says: "1951 Chassis assembly started at Karjaa (where trams and bus bodies were also made). The various makes were Jyry, Kontio, and Nalle trucks, Ilves bus chassis, and Kärppä-Sisu for military use." So Jyry is a make, not a model? BeanBandit, can you help? |

Well, I read some literature and searched for web, and it seems, that Jyry-Sisu is more like a official pet name for the model, and the official model name is K-30, and the model year is actually 1953. I can't be sure, it is so hard to find reference photos of such a small brand. But K-series did go up to K-50 (52 ton), and did not find a picture of that either. |
