1962+ (side/tail lights and indicators).

There seems to be some confusion regarding dating these. Many sources mention 1962 for this update of indicators, it seems to be mixed up with the upgraded engine that came in Oct-62 for 1963 models. The lights and wipers were changed in Oct-63 for 1964 models.

Detailed info here, I hope it´s correct:

I believe its confused for this reason also. By my information for Model Year 1962 (September 1961) the semaphore arms were discontinued.

At the same time I would guess the front (clear) and rear (red) side lights would double as turn signals by flashing in place of the semaphore arms. At some point also on a few cars additional orange turn signals were added to the front, I believe as a factory modification (but could possibly be owner modified).

I would also welcome any additional information about what happened between the time the semaphore arms were removed and the larger combined turn and sidelights were introduced.

I agree that the larger combined side lamps and turn signals were not used however until Model Year 1964 (October 1963) both front and rear.

In Denmark was the bonnet handle not fitted for safety/legal regulations?

Glass's confirms the MMOC sequence/dates, which is a very useful summary. Each has a couple of additional details, so I'll blend and summarise.
1] before Oct 61 - 948 cc, semaphore indicators.
2] Oct 61 - still 948 cc, flashing indicators (Glass's says "previously used on LHD models") instead of semaphore. MMOC shows slightly larger front sidelights - still single colur and very difficult to distinguish from previous. Possibly slightly higher and closer to headlamp and seems to have chrome surround (but I doubt if we'll really be able to use this difference onscreen). Interiors became 2-tone on deluxe (MMOC).
3] Oct 63 - 1098 cc. Longer wiper blades. Combined larger front and rear indicator/sidelights with amber portions. Traveller gets extra round amber rear light (Glass's) = 3 lights per side.
4] Oct 64 - 2-spoke steering wheel instead of 3 spoke. Sun visors (Glass's).
5] Oct 67 - wheel background paint changed from white to "dark silver" = mid-grey (MMOC). Hoorah - I knew this changed about then, but never saw confirmation before. Grille colour changed from Old English White to Snowberry White/Police White/Glacier White (so from cream to a brighter white? might be useful, but likely to be difficult??) (MMOC).

Considering the mess most of the sources show on the matter, there´s no need to feel ashamed :)

That´s likely, yes. We have a similar regulation from about 1960 in Sweden.
