Can someone who knows these in detail have a look at our Appia Zagato, Appia GTE, Appia Sport and possibly Appia Coupe, as I think we've got some duplication of names and maybe mis-identifications. I don't know them well enough to attempt it reliably. |

The Appia was bodied by several "carroziere" such as Zagato for the "Appia Sport's", Pininfarina for the "Coupé" and Vignale for the "Convertibile" The Zagato or "Appia Sport" came in several series. The first ones had ugly wings on top of the rear fenders and a weird grille. All were based on the Appia Berlina chassis, which wasn't shortened, hence they look a bit out of proportion. There is however a "short" Appia Zagato, which is the most beautiful and it looks like a little Flaminia Sport. Pininfarina made the coupé, which looks like a Convertible with a slim roof. Vignale made the Convertible in 2 versions. 1st a 2 seater, then a 2 + 2 seater, both almost lookalikes. |

I think this is 59 GTE Zagato for wheel trim rings, the 2nd body in Appia Zagato sequence. |
