Audi A8? |

It´s definitely a car from the Volkswagen-Konzern due the smaller right door mirror. But I think the first A8 had equal mirrors on both sides, hadn´t it? Is it an Audi A6 C5? |

What's the logic of putting a smaller side mirror on the passenger side? |

@jettalover: I think it's more of a case of a larger driver's side mirror, instead of the smaller passenger's side mirror. The driver is on the left, thus a larger mirror on that side would benefit the driver when in motion, where as the passenger can use the smaller mirror on their side, and look behind them without risking an accident compared to the driver doing so. |

The passenger doesn't need to look in the mirrors ! Both mirrors are used by the driver. Some large European cars have a shorter passenger's side mirror because the European roads are narrow, and frequently have lines of cars parked on either side, and it may happen that there is a small space when you encounter other vehicles coming from the opposite direction. So the passenger's side mirrors are shortened to avoid any contact with the driver's side mirrors of cars parked along the streets. |

The first A8 series (1997-99 in CDN/USA) also had smaller right door mirror. This actually looks to be an Audi A8 D2 |
