Not an Anglia. Ford Ten [7W], 1937-8.

I actually found an Anglia with the three-slotted grille: Link to "www.chooseyouritem.com"

Probably just a mod.

I don't know the exact details but some export Anglias had the 3-slot grille.

@lateef: probably it was. (Your link got 403'd.)
@dsl: On balance I'd suggest this was a Ten; I think they were exported in greater numbers before the war. The Ten was even assembled in Lithuania.

This is certainly a Ten, the Anglia had a more rounded windscreen and straight bumpers.

That's more impressive than Cortinas in the Philippines. I'm much too young for these cars so am not arguing with your identification, but have a Burgess-Wise book on Ford at Dagenham Link to "www.amazon.co.uk" with a photo (page 117) of a 1948 export Anglia with 3-bar grille and 1172cc engine crossing Brooklyn bridge. A very dry read but some great pictures and worth buying if you can find a cheap one.

I'd suggest that a 1948 Anglia with a 3-bar grille was just using up surplus parts. The 3-bar grille was strictly prewar in my experience.

@chris - thanks. Hope I'm not being a cheeky young whippersnapper if I point out that it says Latvia - still out-trumps the Philippine Cortinas though.

I am sorry to be about two years late with this, but have only just noticed it looking at Ford Ten models on the site.

The Ford Anglia was produced with the triple barred grille from the 7W, and the 1172cc engine, for American export only, at Dagenham between March and October 1948. The 5cwt van was also produced with similar modifications, again for the USA, so the three barred grille was used post WW2. This car, however, is a 7W Ten from pre WW2, as it is fitted with the bulbous headlamp glasses unique to that model.
