I believe it is a 1938-1946 American LaFrance.

Could be a Model B-601 like this 1942 model

Nice one valiant1962, but I don't think so. It's much too aerodynamic, although it looks derivative of the 1937-40 International Harvester D-Series trucks.

Based on the photo, I'm quite sure that it's a Colorado Springs Fire Department (Colorado,USA; C.S.F.D.) American LaFrance 600 series pumper. Google 600 series to confirm its appearance. According to the Peckham roster of American LaFrance deliveries found on the www.SPAAMFAA.org website under "resources", the CSFD took delivery of two ALF 600 pumpers in the 1940s. The CSFD also took delivery of an ALF 500 series at an earlier date. I believe this is a 600, not a 500 - but I might be wrong. This is most likely one of the two 600's delivered to the CSFD. One survives at the CSFD's Lester Williams Fire Museum. Check the museum's website for a photo. Note the Rockie Mtns in the background of the film clip. Station from which the Mercury chief's car is exiting looks like Station 1 of the CSFD (check their website).
