That would be an Innocenti Mini, a version of the famous BMC mini built in Italy http://www.inno-mini-world.com/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/pieterameye/3566918342/ |

OK, if we move to 1982 (and this car has authentic detail) we have a difference from UK spec for City (side stripe stickers with City decals) and then City E from mid-82 without the stickers but black bumpers; all Minis got 12" wheels Oct 84 so this is a short window. If City badge not used outside UK - see also /vehicle.php?id=396252 - we may have Made for Europe models and trim names in early 80s basic Minis. Also that the date shift makes this a 1000 - all 850s stopped August 80. |

In Italy This version was simply called Mini E. That summer, just after aving visited the Turin show in April (with the 2nd launch of the UK Minis - in 2 versions: E and HLE) I spent a month in London where I realized the local version for a bit different in trim, side strips and name from the one for Italy. The E was more similar to the basic one and the HLE was possibly the same as in UK. and was the most luxurious one. In this particular car the roof has been reapinted as two-tones were not available (HLE could have a vinyl roof) -- Last edit: 2011-05-14 13:16:46 |

Sounds as if we will need to be cautious about lower trim UK-made Minis in Europe for about 1976-84 - the local versions may vary from UK names and trim. Creates a difficulty as there is a lot of UK info for this period when there were many fiddly changes every year or two, but I have not found a summary of the export permutations. Also to repeat earlier comment - this one is 1000 as all 850s stopped August 80. |
