About a week ago, I came across a great promotional photo from the film showing Rex Harrison standing outside a London RR showroom admiring his soon to be new car purchase, a 1931 RR Barker PII limousine. I posted it and another picture for the movie, Arthur, with Dudley Moore in the discussion forum. I thought they would be better than no pics at all. Can anyone help get images for these 2 fun films?

The feature car of this film was 9JS, a Barker sedanca de ville but they also used stand-in cars for some shots: 54GN, 165GN and a few Twenties.

http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0059927/trivia wrote The Rolls-Royce used in the film was a pale blue 1930 Phantom II Sedanca de Ville, which M-G-M technicians covered with 20 coats of yellow paint; a few coats of black were added to the top of the hood, the roof, and the wings.

I do not know this make, should it be changed from "1931 Rolls-Royce Phantom II Barker Limousine" to match the IMDb info?

I am not sure, IMDB has already proven its unreliability about vehicle info... I guess that some specialist will be able to confirm or not.

About the original image, I modified the code in your comment: it is so small that the thumbnail code was quite useless :D

this actually is the second RR used in the movie - not the same as Rex Harrison is buying. Used at the end of the movie (in third "episode") in some a bit of a crash scenes - probably less preserved car as the first one.

Phantom II #9JS has an unbroken black waistline whereas the stand-in's waistline stops at the front door shut. The characteristic Barker bottom door moulding is painted on the stand-in ! See /vehicle_253794-Rolls-Royce-Phantom-II-9JS-1931.html for comparison.

According to Chapman's Car Compendium by Giles Chapman this is a Phantom I, though that might be a typo.

So both Phantom II cars are still in existence, right? I know at least one of them is, and its in good condition the last I knew. It lives somewhere in the US.

This is the second car used particulary for rough work, #54GN a Thrupp & Maberly Phantom II Sedanca de Ville. Later ended up in Norway
