1972 Chevrolet Vega GT Hatchback "brown with a white stripe" |

The red car facing the mall appears to be an early 70's Chevrolet Vega, the green car appears to be a 1976-77 Oldsmobile Cutlass, the white car appears to be a 1975-76 Oldsmobile 98, the white station wagon appears to be a 1978-80 Ford Fairmont, further away from the screen I see a Lincoln Versialles (anybody remember those cars)? |

Red car is a Dodge aspen with rare side window shape....sunriser package?..The wagon next to the Vega looks like a '77 Olds.Bottom left corner may be the same Skylark from the bridge scene. |

I enlargened it and looked closer-next to the Vega is Fairmont/Zephyr,as is the white car 4 down. A blue Fairmont 2 door is next to the Fairmont Wagon.3rd row, 2nd from end I'm now seeing a 1976 Chevette. |

"Oh, you want to get out from this parking?" |

Don't post quotes that don't make sense in English People have done that too many times on this site. (eg. Pulp Fiction: "Zed is the dead. Zed is the dead, Baby.") It goes like this: Jake: You got us into this parking lot pal, you get us out! Elwood: You want to get out of this parking lot? OK. (Inside toy store) Checkout girl: Will there be anything else? Man: (holding a soft toy of Grover from Sesame Street) Yes, do you have a Miss Piggy? -- Last edit: 2010-03-15 15:03:48 |

Oops, my fault. I'm feeling ashamed... I have to watch the American version of the DVD again. |

In retrospect I kinda wish they had used Old Chicago to trash, but that was still (barely) open. -- Last edit: 2015-02-15 00:53:15 |

I have lived in Illinois all my life and have never seen a Jewel or any other grocery store anchor a mall. Although, this movie is before my time... |

I have seen one Jewel store anchor at Northpoint Shopping Center, Arlington Heights, IL, USA right next what was the former Venture store years ago. |

Jewel and Walgreen's really were anchors for the Dixie Square Mall, which was abandoned in 1978. They stayed open until spring of 1979, while JCPenney briefly re-opened for a liquidation sale that January. The mall was completely vacant when John Landis rented it, though some former stores, including Walgreen's and Hickory Farms, refused to allow their (abandoned) store fronts to be featured. Those stores were dressed up as other stores or not featured at all. For example the Walgreen's was dressed up the Toys R Us seen in the movie (a fake wall was built for the car to crash through, which remained in the building until the mid-'80s), though the exterior of Jewel and JCPenney were unchanged and featured prominently (although Jewel never had a mall entry). |
