It has a DDR-plate (from East Berlin), so it's probably something selfmade from there. There were a few of them in the DDR, some based on early Käfer, but some also on the Typ82 Kübelwagen.

This one is from a collection of rare VWs. so it can be that he was only produced once or twice.

No to see here, but other interesting pics from DDR-selfmade cars :) http://www2.mdr.de/sachsenspiegel/8195154.html

Oh no not this one! I've wasted too many hours trying to find an answer for this!

At least it looks quite Rometsch-esque.

IMHO not really convincing - Rometsch-made-cars were extremely rare and horrendous expensive handemade luxoury-cars - very unlikely, that such a car landed in the Ostzone. I'm still going for something private self-made in the DDR.

Not to mention the Wartburg 311 windscreen ;)

Annother in the DDR selfmade car, a close copy of a Porsche 356. As not uncommon back then, based on a Kübelwagen [Ty82].
Link to "cgi.ebay.de" The price: :wow: :wow: :wow:

ok. This should be a 1961 Wendt Wagen. Although this is a one-off and no naming convention exists for it I would list it as [marque] Wendt [model] Wagen. All information about it (in German) can be found here:

 Thanks for the informative link!

But I doubt, that this car was 40 years in a "Sleepeing Beauty sleep". The steering wheel is way too new for that.

I changed it to "Custom Made Wendt Wagen" and someone changed it again.
This is a one-of, not a real make, so I do not see why not list it like other similar cases...
