I'd give 5 stars. The show revolves a good portion specifically on these cabs. |

Very, very much agree. People drive in, drive out, we see entire rides and conversations set inside the cabs, and there's an entire episode about cab #804, the one seen in the closing credits. Some of the cabbies even have life changing moments while driving these taxis. To say these cabs just sat around the garage and did nothing is flat out inaccurate. IMHO, five stars. But having said that...there's a couple of other TV shows where I would think the "mascot" car would get five stars but it doesn't, and the common thread is that they're shot in front of live audiences. We don't see lengthy on-location shots of these cars going down the street, just based on the way the show is shot, and that works against them perhaps unfairly. For this one episode, yes, one may be one star and one may be two stars but that assumes they never appeared again. And after all the show is called "Taxi," so they appeared in almost every episode (the one in the credits appeared in every single one). |

I'll admit I haven't seen a lot of Taxi despite it being shown on Sky quite a bit over the years, but I don't think there's much actual car action in the show. All the scenes set in the interior of the cabs during the rides will have been filmed in studios using the back projection method, so the car isn't actually being driven. And don't they spend a lot of time during episodes just hanging around the garage? 5 stars seems like too much. |

Looks like pre-1968 due to no sidemarker. |

O.K. I am working through the first two seasons of "Taxi" now, and I'm convinced the star ratings on these are all wrong. They were apparently based on only a couple of episodes. Through the run of the series, the two cars stay in the garage and we constantly see the actors get in and out of them, and we see Latka working under the hood of both. If we never saw them again each time they'd be two stars, but they're always there. Changing to three stars each. |

Speaking of Cab #804, guess what the fleet number on this one is: /vehicle_216186-Checker-Taxicab-A11-1968.html http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1327572/trivia |
