I think it is the Lancia Aurelia B24 convertible (not Spider) without |

1955 Lancia Aurelia B24 Spider. The one with the panoramic windscreen was called Aurelia B24 Spider "America". |

I agree with Ralph, it's a 1956 Aurelia Convertibile and a [B24S] because it's left-hand drive. |

Quelqu'un connaîtrait-il la couleur de cette Lancia Aurelia utilisée dans le Fanfaron ? |

In a documentary from 1995 about Dino Risi e Vittorio Gassman they show the car now exposed in Cinecittà. It seems to be resprayed in silver and the mist lamps are missing. -- Last edit: 2010-01-05 16:55:44 |

(for the disc player see also here: /vehicle.php?id=410866) Two different Lancias were used. See tail lights and rearview mirror: For the final crash scene, a third car were used. Maybe not even a Lancia. A customized Alfa Romeo? -- Last edit: 2016-05-12 14:14:55 |

Crash scene car looks like it migh be cut-down Lancia Appia. Definitely not the Aurelia, the bootlid is wrong and the bumpers have over-riders. |

Reader's letter from Italy in Classic & Sports Car (UK magazine, April 2022 p55) confirms 2 Aurelias used (both "Seconda Serie"), and the crash car was a fake, based on Fiat 1100 or according to some sources a Siata 1400. The first Aurelia (early scenes and "race" with the Fiat 2300S) was light green with dark interior, chassis 1329, registration Roma 329446. This was accidentally damaged during filming and repaired with patches and filler on right side. Meanwhile another was sourced to allow continued filming, pale blue with tan interior, chassis 1268, Roma 276921, used mainly for static scenes. Both cars were sold off after filming and repainted, but still survive in Italy after restoration back to original spec. |
