A very nice 5 [E12]. One of my favourite BMW's. |

...for me too. My grandfather was nearly thinking to buy it. Unfortunately (and not for this motivation) he died soon after. |

When it was new, a friend of my father took me for a ride in it. I was 5 or 6 years old. No kidding, it was the one and only time in my life, I've sat in a BMW. Noone of my family, friends, colleagues and so ever had one later on. For a while in the 80ies I've stolen parts from BMW-wrecks, which were placed for the scrap-dealer in front of a private BMW-garage. I kept them for a while and have sold them years later on classic-car-markets. I remember several E 12-badges, E12- and E3-tachometers, hubcaps and -no idea, why they don't put it off- a "touring" badge. |

my 1st bmw... of approximately as many as ingo has had VWs... was a '77 530i e12, in about 1990, and with over 300K miles on the clock. she was silver with a navy leather interior and a 4-speed. ~ still one of my favorites, after having had a few dozen in 20 years time. |

I don't love too much BMWs in general, but this model was exception: I loved it and the point that for a short while my grandfather liked it too, makes me remember it in a sweeter way. |
