This is a 1950 model. The car has a one-piece windshield because it is a Starlight Coupe, not because it is a '51. (All Starlights, convertibles and Land Cruisers had one-piece windshields from '47 on.) Note also '50 style trunk lid handle, bumper guards and taillamps. The chrome gravel shields CAN be used in this case to denote this a Commander Regal Deluxe since it is a Starlight coupe (but convertible Champions also had them). This one can also be ID'ed as a Commander owing to the hood ornament style and Commander style bumper guards. Also, the fender top ornaments are long and low. The optional '50 Champion fender ornaments were shorter and had a "bump" on top (identical to 1951 units). -- Last edit: 2010-05-02 16:58:16 |
