It's older than 1997. With the actual pictures, I'd say 1988-96. Is there a picture that shows better some details like the headrests, clear view through the rear side glass to see if it has seat belts or not? And roof rack attachments or badges?

I agree, it does look like pre-1997.

It looks like a 1988-89 as it has no rear shoulder belts. The lower door trim is usually found on the 1988-92 Cherokee Laredo or newer Cherokee Country models but the 1988-89 Laredo front seat headrests were different (with a hole in them) and the bumpers, outside morrors and grille should have been chrome plated on the Laredo.
