1995-96 Impalala SS, the outside mirror is different on the 94 model.

It's a '96 -- they were only offered in black in '94 and '95. That's the greyish-green color, I think.

It's either a '95 or '96. Two colors available both years: DGGM (Dark Green Gray Metallic) and DCM (Dark Cherry Metallic). I own a '96 DGGM and have driven a '95 DGGM (with shifter on the steering column in 1994-95). In 1994, SOB (Standard Onyx Black) was the only available color for this awesome car.

it is weird though, thats pretty much a police car, for the movie. I know they actually used those for Dooley county Sheriffs cars down south.

i dont think the makers of the movie were expecting car guys to nitpick but i am suprised that a studio in 1999 couldnt come up with a caprice or crown vic for an unmarked car. and also to nitpick even further this car doesn't have cali spec emergency lights so technically its not a legal emergency vehicle in california

Lateef's new thumbnails show this is a 1996 as it doesn't have a column shifter

What is a "column shifter"?

It is the gear selector mounted on the steering wheel column.

@Phil Leon: in Germany the times of it are gone decades ago ;) IIRC the Opel Rekord D and the Mercedes W115 were the last German cars with one. The first Audi 100 had one, too. But not all models, only the more basic ones. The more modern and sportive gearstick on the floor was an optional extra for extra charge.
