real shame this car ("White Lightnin'")wasn't used more in the film. I'm not American, so I wouldn't know, but would a recent high-school graduate have been able to afford a Super Duty T/A at that time? |

Yep. Following the first gas crunch of 1973, V8-powered cars were sold here dirt cheap, and young kids ended up with a lot of them. I guess it was a good time for them to own their dream cars. |
