Lincoln or Mercury. I'd go with Lincoln.

the black one, a Lincoln Continental Mark series, a 1968 - 1971 Mark III, the very small rear window and no opera window( as in Mark IV and subsequent models)

"Mark III" is an integral part of the name, not a trim.

Listing should be changed to 1969.
There is no such thing as a "1968" Mk III. All Mark III's built in 1968 were VIN-coded as 1969 models.
(Much like the early so-called "1964 1/2 Mustangs". All were 1965's)

That's not a Mark III; the wheel openings aren't nearly flared enough: /vehicle_2340-Lincoln-Continental-Mark-III-1970.html
Also the location of the gas filler is much too high to be a Lincoln's, it's a Mercury. Because the antenna is on the back it's a 1970 model, and the trim along the top of the fenders and doors make it a 1970 Mercury Marquis Brougham Two Door Hardtop [65C]

Interesting, Somename.

I have some problems, though.
The C panel emblem does not look quite right and there is no Marquis name on the fender behind the front wheel.

^You're right, and after further research I discovered that some 69 Marquis do have a rear antenna, instead of a front one

Damn you manufacturer's and your mid-year model changes!!! [Image: shakefist.gif]
