MkI (grille doesn't go under headlights)

Don't think "Class: Cars, Hatchback" is right class as this car has a boot not a hatchback

That car was the same as our Italian badged 1964-1971 Innocenti J4-J5(1,1lt.);was built also in Spain as Authi-BLMC 1100 and in Australia as Morris Nomad 1500 OHC(with 1,5 lt.,meanwhile 1,1 or 1,3lt. of european version);that differs for the grille and the tail,lenghtened and modified with a 3rd light(in lieu of massive C-roof pillars)and was(only for Aussies!)an hatchback;1965-1973 built,was available also with automatic transmission(seems mated with 1,3 engine,but);

The South-African-made BMC ADO 16 was replaced in 1971 by an strange hybrid called Austin Apache,that seems an ugly 1972 Triumph Dolomite 1800,mated with 1970 Triumph Toledo headlights and an added sprung-out trunk on the modified base of pristine BMC-'Farina Austin-Morris 1100-1300 style;but restyling was shortlived(it got also a "TC",twin-carbs 1,3 version in 1973),'cause was definitively replaced by South-African-built Austin(not Morris for Afrikaneers)Marina 1300,launched in 1978;something of similar at Austin Apache was built also in Spain such Authi-BLMC Victoria(was mfd.into same plants of Pamplona,then sold at Seat,when adventure of BLMC ends on Spain ground in the '70s)

Probably plain Austin 1100, which was built in ZA from 1963. 11/55 started in 68 and had extra trim.

Update: sticking with plain 1100 here. But some extra info on ADO16s in ZA: first arrivals in 62 were some UK build Morris 1100s, then in 63 local build started for Austin and MG 1100, with Wolseley added 1966, along with estates as both Austin Countryman and Morris Traveller (the first mention I've found of Local build Morris). Then in 1967 11/55 versions were added to Austin, Morris and Wolseley saloons for a year as Mk1, then in 68 with Mk2 updates (as UK with new grilles and rear lights), These were slightly enhanced (bigger carb, side trim strips possibly added to Austin and Morris, slightly fancier wheels).

Most sources only mention Austin and Wolseley, but MG was included from start and Morris was added at some point, maybe 65-ish?? (See this example and this page) and

Also:
" The Austin 11-55 was a South African version of BMC’s 1100 (ADO 16) introduced in the UK in 1962, and in the following years became a best-seller. The South-Africa market 11-55 (sold in Austin 11/55 de luxe, Morris 11/55 de luxe and Wolseley 11/55 versions), featured much local content, but was based on the British 1100. A significant difference for the 11/55 was that it was powered by an uprated version of BMC’s 1098cc engine, with the specification based on that of the automatic gearbox 1100s sold in the UK (with a unique AP four speed transmission). Therefore it retained the same capacity and compression ratio, but featured a large carburettor (1.5 in SU instead of 1.25in), improved combustion chambers, and larger valves plus dual valve springs. This was said to increase power from 50 bhp (SAE) @ 5,100 rpm to 54 bhp (SAE) @ 5,500 rpm (so 8 per cent higher output) – and the engine speed at which the maximum torque (approximately 60 lb.ft) was developed was raised from 2,500 to 3,400 rpm."

"The headstrong BMC 11/55 - Bred for the man with a sense of adventure" :lol: - amazing what 4 extra bhp and a chrome strip can achieve ...
