Model name? Bus? Transporter?

Rather Bus than Transporter. Camper-conversion, but I don't know, which manufacturer, probably something British or perhaps something selfmade. No Westfalia.

Is Bus a proper model name or an unofficial name like Beetle was for the Typ 1?

It was used at least in Germany mainly for the T2 and T3 (see the sales brochures). The difference is (resp.should be), that the Transporter has no back seats and no side windows like the Bus. And the Bus has better interior and more extras than the Transporter. But this is not always correct. There were also Transporters with seats and windows (for example all Bundeswehr-T2 and T3), there were also some Buses without back seats. Camper were based on the Bus (mainly, not in every case...)

So it's rather a tentative clue than a hard fact, to sperate Bus and Transporter by the number of side windows and if there are back seats inside. Often it's true, but not always and not neccessarily. The variety of all interior, extras, conversions etc. is too big to give exact descriptions.

P.S.Chassis and technic are identical. But like the interior: mostly, not always. Oficially weren't -for example- T3-Transporter offered with basic interior, but the biggest engine and as syncro-4x4 - but they exist anyways.
