What is the code for such mixed T1 with T2? I guess there is more T1 in this. :D

this model was only produced in Brazil. It mixed the most modern styling with old Kombi chassis. I am not used to T1 and T2 terms, but I guess T1 is the older one and then you are completely right.

Yes T1 is the older version.

I'd rather call this a T2: new front, new bumpers, new taillights...

Do you know when this mixture (T1/T2 mix) started?

I visited http://www.vw.com.br/kombi50anos/ and also http://www2.uol.com.br/bestcars/classicos/kombi-1.htm . this last site is much more complete, altough in Portuguese language. It covers the hole hisstory, first about the German production and the final part about brazilian production. It worth a look, because are many photos and interesting relationship with other manufacturers such as DKW and Tempo.

As a resume:
1957-1967; First type(T1) 1200 cm³
1967-1975: T1, but with 1500 cm³- end of old rear tranmission
1976-1997: T2, 1600 cm³, new double articlated drive shafts
1997 - today:sliding door, from 2007, 1.4 watercooled engine.

You read this on the site in Portugese? As I understand 1976 for the T2. This is the Brazilian T2?
Personally I thought that in Brazil they had both, for some time - the new T2 and as a cheaper, alternative model, modernised this way T1.
