tractor trailer beyond Chevrolet Malibu/Chevelle looks like an Autocar. Tractor behind that looks like a Mack B61 thermodyne. The White looks like a 4000 http://www.hankstruckpictures.com/pix/trucks/rgellis/ontario/wilsons_t_l_0001.jpg

The truck directly behind the White 4000 is that International Transtar that is seen in several scenes and is eventually blown up. It is listed in the Maximum Overdrive homepage.

:hello: The blue sedan is a Chevy Caprice, definetly not a Chevelle.

I think you are right, it is a pre-77 Malibu/Chevelle.

Maybe a Malibu, but I see know Chevelle. Caprice or Malibu. My cousin just got a Caprice and the rear is identical.

Doesn`t look big enough to be a Caprice, but the Malibu Classic has the identical taillights too :hello:

Look Again, Firebird86. The white/blue tractor behind the Autocar Garbage hauler and next to the Mack Ultraliner is a Mack B-77. It says so on this movies page.

this truck is in omaha,NE the cosuin of the person who owns the Diamond Reo the truck did infact survive the movie, this truck also leaves with the 1 one thurston truck that was left & the Diamond Reo it was never blown up at the end the truck featured a small cam 250HP NTC Cummins with a RT905 6 Speed Transmission, and is also what still remains in the truck today the truck is still hard at work hauling a dump trailer, the trailer that it hauled during the movie was kept by Death Vally,CA Truck Rentals, this truck also came from there too! the truck was auctioned off in '88 and was sold to a farm where it hauled a grain trailer then was sold to the o/0 that still owns it today in '98

If you look closely to the Autocar at the back, you will notice an erro because when it runs over Duncan the blood is in the grill and it shows clean

that's because some of the trucks in the film had stunt double trucks for the character truck in the movie and the autocar had a couple of stunt doubles

1968-1976 model, not sure of EXACT year, but 1968 is when they switched to the boxy fiberglass fenders

If you look at most White 4000s on Google, you'll see how most have a hood ornament that sticks up. Well this White 4000 doesn't have that, it has the bayonet style that goes up the hood. I couldn't find a 1968 or older model 4000 that had this feature. 1969 by default? Or is this something we should look into more?

I...I just realized, this isn't even a 4000 at all!, its a 9000!

Those side view images you posted show the distinct "snub-nose" hood unlike the previous ones we had!

if it was a 4000 the oil cleaner on the cab side would be "behind" the fender so to speak, the 9000s of this late type had them slightly above the rear half of the fender, as seen here!

almost 16 years of this being listed as a 4000 and none of us ever noticed that haha

here is a quick drawing I made to show what I meant (pardon the small size of it)

another little detail is the fuel tank, its right up against the fender, whereas on most 4000s there is a little "box" between the fender and tank, my guess is either Air Tanks or Battery box but I am not 100% sure

Im Almost Certain it's a White 4000, Not a White 9000. Why? Because look at the gap between both trailers, the 4000 Cab is closer to the rear wheels, and the 9000 Cab is further away from the rear wheels

Also look at the weird side thingy, different spaces.

I thought the same thing as you at first, but it is actually a White 9000. Here's a promo shot that was taken during filming, and the truck is right in the foreground.

Now here's a White 4000 compared to a White 9000.

[Image: white4000example.jpg] [Image: white9000example.jpg]

There's a couple differences between the White 4000 and 9000. The White 4000 obviously has a longer hood, which were exclusively tilt hoods. White 9000's on the other hand had butterfly hoods by default, and could be custom ordered with a tilt hood by a customer. In the promo shot you can see a gap going down the truck's hood, indicating a butterfly hood. This truck also lacks a hood ornament, trucks with tilt hoods had the hoor ornament act as a handle to pull the hood upward. Tractor upfit and 6x4 drive is prevalent on this truck which is added onto the model name.

-> 1968 White 9064 T

The 9000's had two different grill designs available I think, although the type this one has was not prevalent until 1968.

Also, lets not forget, it could be a 4000, of 9000, but possibly with a different sized hood...

Imma Say, this is a White 4000, and here's why. The nose is decided on which kind of motor they stick in it and the 4000 had many different sizes of noses, and the 9000 TO ME, doesn't fit right with this truck. So there's my OPINION
