From MyCarCheck: The vehicle L809SVF, a Router (Sports), is on our database From DVLA, for "Router" make: The vehicle details for L809 SVF are: Date of Liability 01 02 2010 Date of First Registration 01 02 1994 Year of Manufacture 1993 Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1588CC CO2 Emissions Not Available Fuel Type Petrol Export Marker Not Applicable Vehicle Status SORN Not Due Vehicle Colour BLACK Vehicle Type Approval null ... so is "Router" the make? Or is it just a term used for that kind of things? |

I wonder what engine it has. A BMC B-engine is 1588 cc, as is Toyotas 2T. |

Router should be the make (or manufacturer of a kit car) but the DVLA does have errors in its database. I can find no reference to Router and can see no logic in the name so perhaps it is a typo? |

Maybe Router is just the guy's name? If the person who made the video captures is reading, is it possible to get some more information? |

This car was designed and built by Jim Router. I worked with Jim in the early eighties in Holland (Volvo). He did the car as a project to beat radar and speed traps. Jim had spent a long time at LOTUS and had the oppurtunity to work with Colin Chapman before his demise. The car was a 'one off' and as far as I know Jim didn't pursue it any further. As dragonboy has pointed out Jim has since worked with McLaren. The last time I spoke to Jim he was back in Norwich (UK) doing his own thing and consulting for the auto industry |
