Shall it be set on a US-military airport in Germany?

Annother goof: the US military police don't have civil US-police-cars like that in use. Except in this movie, you only can find US- and German police-cars together once: at the meeting of a "police-car-enthusiasts-club" :D

The second car behind the Plymouth on the thumbnail is a Opel Rekord C Caravan.

This police car website has photos of 1980 Plymouth Volares belonging to the US Air Force Security Police.

Hmm, never seen them on the road (o.k., I never lived in an area, where US-garnisons have been). Are they in use on the Airforce-bases only, or are they allowed to drive outside, in the real traffic?

I've no idea. I don't live anywhere near a US base either.

Did you notice the Opel Kadett from RAF Croughton (on the main page)? It's left hand drive, but has British-style markings.

P.S. Here's what must be the coolest US military police car ever, an Alfa Romeo 156 from US Naval Air Station Sigonella in Italy. :)

No, I cannot remember this Kadett, sorry.

Anyways, the most of the -mainly British made- cars, Landrovers and trucks, used by the "British Rhine Army" in Germany, are LHD!

A propos foreign military police-cars in Germany, one interesting detail: at this legendary place: /vehicle_195566-Ford-M151--MUTT-.html ,all the years between 1948 and 1990, the US Army had always parked one MP-car in front of the checkpoint-hut (the legendary container) - and this was always a German made Ford, never an US-car! Just check historic pics. In 1961, during the very critical times (erecting the Wall, Cuba-crisis), it was a Ford 17 M [P3].

Hmm...where's the German Ford in that shot from Octopussy then? :)

I've seen LHD British army vehicles, presumably bought for use in Germany, here in Britain.

That Volare's color pattern looks like the old Suffolk County, New York police cars during the 1970's. The only difference is the lights were red and white.

I have been in such a US military base and they were driving Ford Mondeo Sedans. They are also allowed to get out of it, with their american cars.

When they were discarded, the were sold via www.vebeg.de Had they only US-spec Mondeos or the German version, too? The very most civil US military Fords, offered at the VEBEG were US-spec Mondeo, Escort, Econovan, Taurus and Windstar and F-Series.

This is an actual USAF Security Police unit.I remember these cars in use when I was in Germany in the early 1980's? And they do get taken off Base? The German Fords used in Berlin were actually unique to the 'Berlin Brigade' as well,Mostly didn't start with German Built vehicles throughout USAEUR/USAFE until early '80's as well? (First I recall were T-3 VW Transporters, about 1980)

Also: In the link above my comment,if you look at the whole selection of US Military Police units, several of those are units from where I lived at that time?(Baumholder)
