OK, I can´t tell for sure, especially not from this single picture. There were innumerable American hearse coachbuilders prior to the wallstreet crash, offering an incredible variety of carved bodies. So I had two possibilities: 1) I have by accident pictures, brochures etc. of the very same 8 column hearse shown here or a similar one, 2) I have records of a Dodge hearse of that era which reportedly still existed when the movie was shot. None of them happened. Keystone Vehicle Co. of Columbus/ Ohio made similar bodies on Dodge chassis around 1918, but that´s the nearest relative of this funeral coach I could find by now. -- Last edit: 2008-02-05 00:43:51 |
