If you swap the "P-24-1" to the extra info, you should reconsider these one as well, to be logical? ;)

as it's the case for another "special deluxe"

For other Plymouths I always put the P-code in extra info ; I do not know who renamed these two ;)
But now we could put it in the chassis field, since I modified the way it is handled by default for makes other than Mercedes, BMW and few others.
Same for the model numbers of Chevrolet, Ford, De Soto and some others: could we put them as chassis number ?

is P-xxx an international code ?... if yes, it should be in the chassis field, no?

I guess it is an equivalent to BMW's E-code and Mercedes' W-code

I meant "internal" code, but you've understood me :) OK then if it is sure, we should swap to the chassis field

Maybe wait for a confirmation from Pilou and/or Alexander for example.
It will be easy to find those that have a P- code in their extra info field : this week-end I added on the search page an option to inclure the extra info field in the search ;)

It´s about the same as with the Fords, Chrysler Corp. used thes codes internally and they correspond to each model of the year. The basic model has one code, the next level another and so on.

I don´t think so, they are better kept as extra info in my opinion. Because when put in the chassisfield the code comes up "highlighted" even at the mainpage of each make, it thus becomes part of the modelname which it isn´t.

I believe that the chassisfield should be kept for cases like Mercedes and BMW when it´s mostly impossible to come closer than just identifying the body, and therefor the bodycode will be the maininfo instead of the modelname or modelnumber.

For the rest of the cars I think it´s sufficient to add these codes as extra info after the make and modelname/number.
Then the info is there for the specialist to see when each picture is opened, and not seen on the main page for the more "average" viewer.

Then what about the few Opels that have a code ? :D

Like this one?

Same there, extra info :)

I was thinking to that one too:

But the sorting problems is now gone since I made change for that.

Ok, the sorting was of course a problem in itself.
Evenso I think there´s a point in keeping these fields for different purposes even if the info put into them basically are of the same kind.

I see the chassisfield as a compromise that in most cases replaces the modelfield and in som cases adds complimentary info to the modelfield.

And the extra infofield is, from my point of view, perfect for adding complimentary info for us modelfreaks with lots of extra knowledge to share.

I think that Make and Model should consist of what´s either on the cars or how they where marketed in ads and sales literature, as far as it´s possible to find out. The rest is more or less extra info.

Ok I would then say ( as with the 1940 Ford ) : Plymouth Cambridge 1953 ( Series P-24-1 )

"top là!" :D ... I agree with your point of view DAF555...
