Norton Commando with aftermarket tank and seat - probably made by Dunstall. Difficult to dat exactly but I think the Commando got a disc front brake from about 1972. |

NZ, Judging from the extra capacity tank design and the seat/tail section this is a Gus Kuhn Commando. The Kuhn tail section sloped down where the Dunstall had a slight kick up. This one slopes down. I never saw Dunstall market a 5 Imperial gallon (6 gallon U.S.) tank whereas Gus Kuhn did. I can't recall the name of it but it was named after one of the race tracks in the UK. One they had the endurance type races at. |

On closer examination this is his 1974 model an absolutely beautiful Commando. If you go to: http://www.guskuhn.net/GKMLtd/GKCommandos.htm Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page you will see the fairing models but you can make out the large tanks and sloping tail. Cheers Mate |
