johnfromstaffs ◊ 2019-10-20 13:05	Presumably this car is of monocoque construction and therefore has stressed panels in its coachwork. Not only that, but as a top level model but from a less exalted manufacturer, the parts unique to the high level car might be hard to obtain and therefore pricey. One thing that you must avoid is giving restorers poorly defined work packages leaving room for expensive misunderstandings.
Ingo ◊ 2019-10-20 13:25	@johnfromstaffs: of course there are no specific bodywork parts available at all - but they never were available in the past, too. But for the regular fourdoor KAD-range the situation isn't much better. Plus the fact, all owners of any Karmann product have to deal with: the effort for rust conservation was very low. To say it clearer: non existing at all. It became better with the Golf Cabriolet, but all Karmann made cars before were worst rust buckets.
