Further info on the group of propaganda vehicles named Olympia-Zug. Let's spill some tea and attach a name to it: On the 1st thumbnail we can see there is a script at the lower end of the first trailer, right above the drawbar. It reads "Christoph" and is framed by two vertical symbols, as seen below (source is a different pic of one of the four Olympia-Zug trucks): A symbol like this, combined with the name Christoph, can be seen here and here, which leads me to the conclusion that the Olympia-Zug was coachbuilt by the Christoph & Unmack AG, who also built track vehicles, prefab houses and a lot of other constructions made from steel or wood. After WW II, hardly anyone was proud to have been involved in what had happened, which might be a good reason why we can't find much more about this company in relation to this project. The company continued as "VEB Waggonbau Niesky" in 1946 and later became a private company again, which closed its doors in 2018. |
