With that windscreen, it also could be a Seddon Diesel. |

I would say ATKINSON Borderer, ATKINSON was a subsidary of SEDDON, which was itself a turn part of INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER |

It's actually an Atkinson Mk I Silver Knight. The model in the picture was manufactured sometime between 1963 to 1968 (the twin headlights are an indicator of this) and predated the Mk II Borderer which was introduced in 1971. The Mk II Silver Knight was introduced at the 1968 Scottish Motor Show at Kelvin Hall in Glasgow. Atkinson Vehicles Ltd were never a subsidiary company of Seddon. The two companies merged in 1970 to form Seddon-Atkinson. Atkinson continued as a seperate entity until 1975 (as did Seddon), when the product ranges ceased to be manufactured and the first Seddon-Atkinson vehicles were launched. Seddon-Atkinson were acquired by International Harvester in the mid seventies and were subsequently sold to ENASA. They were further sold on to IVECO in the nineties which ultimately resulted in their withdrawal from British production at Woodstock Factory in Oldham in 2003. Seddon-Atkinson live on as a specialist vehicles subsidiary of IVECO from their manufacturing base in Madrid, Spain -- Last edit: 2006-01-08 02:09:41 |
