Why 1949? The car was in production 1946-52.

Sept 48 taller grill and reduced bonnet prow - compare.

Dmitry_P wrote Apart from technical data, I can say that it could easily be the same car in the movie, driven by Lennar's henchmen. So if it is really same make/model, it should be merged.

Thanks, I had forgotten the changes to the bonnet. Possibly 18hp engine then.

According to Glass's, there was a year (Sept 48 to Sept 49) of 16hp with this bonnet, then the Sept 49 upgrade to 18hp. So early bonnet is 16hp only, revised bonnet can be both although 18hp had 3 years of production until at least Sept 52 so presumably more common. No end date stated, but presumably it disappeared when Sapphire 346 arrived (Oct 52).

My experience of these cars was the 1952 Whitley we had in the family, GBO 838, a nice, comfortable sort of car with a Wilson gearbox and centrifugal clutch. It was followed by a Sapphire 346, and then the Bentley.

Looks like 'LXF 938' November 1950 - November 1951 London registered.
